Laatunet
LaatuNet is a quality management system for environmental health care
Welcome to get to know nationwide LaatuNet-quality system of environmental health care. LaatuNet is the first digital quality management system for environmental healthcare that is designed for use by municipalities and future provinces.
The purpose of LaatuNet is to replace the quality management systems quality control systems used by control units, standardize quality and facilitate both daily work and quality management. All the currently available national guides, instructions, forms and other activities guiding documents and websites is assembled in the LaatuNet. Because of that can LaatuNet bring into use as such.
Systematic quality management is mandatory under the food act, but at the moment the information is scattered and the quality systems differ. Shortcomings in audits have been observed measurement and tracking of results and corrective measures.

INDICATORS
The Indicators and statistics section gives the most tools to managers. From this section you can see constantly updated results of your own unit compared to the national level. Indicators include for example inspections, resourcing, economy and efficiency. Veterinary care indicators are also being compiled at the time. Each graph can also be downloaded or printed as needed. Info buttons display more information about the indicator and the collected data
PROCESSES
In the Processes section, you can find all sectors of environmental health care. In addition for example epidemics and coercive measures have their own processes.
Each process has the same five stages of processing, new case, examine a case, actions, reporting and further actions. Each step of the process includes all the necessary instructions, forms and web pages at this stage. For example web pages -section can be found all legislation related to this process. The service includes that all links and instructions are reviewed and checked once a month to ensure their timeliness. LaatuNet maintains an archive that also has version control for all documents. In LaatuNet always have available only the latest version. Additional materials section contains complementary and advanced material.
Own documents can be add to each step. This way you can get all the quality management in one place. LaatuNet can also be used as such. The trend is to deliberately reduce the amount of written instructions.
QUALITY CONTROL
Quality management has a quality handbook that briefly describes the main principles and practices of quality management. Quality management also includes service descriptions for each process. These general descriptions serve both as descriptions of activities and as the basis of audits for each process.
The Audits section contains a completed form for the annual audit of internal audits and electronic forms for internal audits. In addition, there are other relevant internal quality management documents, such as complaint handling and parity evaluation form. These are recommended for all units. The internal audits and other documents that have been performed are saved in LaatuNet own documents for review by own unit and auditors.
Quality managers and internal auditors receive guidance and training through LaatuNet-Moodle for quality management in practice. Occasionally external independent auditing and intercalibrations are performed. In addition to the EnviroVet auditors, the auditor’s rights to the system are currently in Ruokavirasto.
QUALITY COUNCIL
LaatuNet as a whole is based on the ISO 9001 standard and the healthcare SHQS system.Once a year, the entire system is evaluated by an external, independent Quality Council. There are representatives from ministry, Ruokavirasto, THL, University, PTY, ETT, Ympäristö ja terveys-magazine and Ehy ry. This will enable the entire quality management system and independence required by the standard to be implemented.
The quality system is still undergoing strong development work and we will inform of all the new features and functions as they come. We also welcome new development ideas and feedback!
